Che Sabalja is NYS certified art teacher with an extensive interdisciplinary knowledge of New York State teaching strategies, initiatives and methodologies. Che specializes in developing curriculum with highly motivating art lesson plans that engage students of all ages, abilities, and cultural backgrounds. Her knowledge of cognitive development, brain science and multiple learning strategies help build a stimulating creative environment. She has taught and developed K-12 curriculum, adult and family programming, special education classes for life skills, ABA, and mainstreamed students and in addition to art and literacy/ELL programs. Che has presented art education workshops at both NAEA and NYSATA Conferences.
Che has had a multifaceted arts career and held art museum positions as Director, Development Officer, Coordinator of Public Program and Museum Educator in addition to experience as Gallery Manager, Curator, Researcher. Che also is a working and exhibiting artist and actor in community theatre. She received a Master’s of Science in Art Education and a B.F.A. in Arts Management/Art History from LIU/C.W. Post and Master’s of Art in Liberal Studies/Museum Studies from New York University including arts and humanities studies abroad at the University of Paris and the Instituto Universitario Di Architettura Di Venezia.
